CS&P Architects was retained to design two new facilities for the Halton Regional Police Service which will serve as the prototype for HRPS district stations in regards to accommodations, security, and design standards. The No. 3 District Police Station in Burlington was the first of these to be constructed and served as the model for the No. 2 District Station in Oakville.
The new Burlington No. 3 District Station is sited in a residential neighbourhood and has been designed to integrate in a seamless way with its surroundings. It is designed to accommodate an initial complement of 185 staff, both uniform and civilian, with flexibility to accommodate future anticipated growth up to the year 2026.
In addition to the normal programme requirements, this facility includes a prominently sited and easily accessible community meeting room, eleven holding cells, District exhibit storage, specific common project rooms and a fitness centre.
